Our very good friends Grant and Jeandre are leaving for Uk :(, damn another couple bites the dust. People are just flocking overseas and it's sad to see more good friends leaving, it's getting very lonely down here in SA. To celebrate their last few days in SA they had a little party at their house with Leon, Jason, myself and Christine. We watched rugby, ate very yummie Chinese food and then closed the evening off with Leon and Jason showing us their talents (as seen below) and playing a few rounds of nail biting Poker. Once again Jeandre taking the pot!! Damn, she can;t be beaten.
To close this post off we would like to wish Grant and Jeandre all the best with their journeys abroad, may you guys enjoy every second and please take lots of photos of your travels so that we can see what you experienced. We are very jealous we couldn't come along :).
Wow, this was definately the best day of our lives - bringing our little pride and joy, Makayla, into the world. She was born on the 28th of November 2007 at 2:55pm weighing 2,54kgs and is a healthy little human being, gorgeous and absolutely beautiful. We are both very very proud parents!!! I would like to just say a big thank you and well done to my wife who pushed all the way on her own and gave birth naturally without any drugs or medication whatsoever, well done love. The day was truely an amazing experience.
Makayla, mom and dad would like to say that we love you very much and we are looking forward to spending many many happy years together as a family.
Hi everybody, this weekend my wife and I drove down to Durban to see our family and to be at our niece's (Kiara) 1st birthday party and dedication. The weekend was great, a bit hectic but we had lots of fun.
We started our journey to Durban on Friday morning at about 11am and arrived at our halfway point in Harrismith at about 2pm. We topped up our fuel, grabbed some food and quickly went to see some of the farm animals they have close by the Wimpy, pretty cool. Christine then decided to drive from Harrismith to Pietermartizburg while I took photos of the beautiful surroundings during our drive. We arrived in Durbs in the evening at the Manning's house bushed and tired and after spending some time with the family we decided to call it an early one.
On Saturday morning we headed to Gateway shopping centre to visit a good friend of ours, Guy Land. We haven't seen Guy in about a year so we had to catchup whatever we could in about an hour or two during our breakfast and coffee at Mug and Bean. After saying our goodbyes to Guy we headed home for Kiara's birthday party which was due to start at 1pm. The birthday was great, there were about 20 kids and their parents excluding the father's as rugby was due to start just - South Africa vs New Zealand, we unfortunately lost the match :(. At the party we ate cake, sweets and mingled amongst these cute little terrors and watched what myself and my wife would be experiencing in a few months time as we're expecting our first baby in Dec 2007. Kiara is really growing so fast and we still can't believe she is already turning 1, wow, time flys. Anyhow, she is looking so cute and really taking on a beautiful personality, she has everybody in hysterics almost all the time. After the party we caught up with the Rugby and spent a bit of time with our family. Saturday night we had a braai and hit the sack early as it was a pretty hectic day.
On Sunday morning we packed our bags so that we were ready to leave later in the day. The Sunday was going to be another special day where we would be attending Kiara's dedication. First we headed to the beach to at least touch the sand and the sea water before we left home for JHB. At 12pm the dedication started and Mark and Bronwyn said their vows to ther beautiful child Kiara, our niece.
This Monday, the 25th of June was her actual/real birthday so Happy B-day little one from us all, we love u.
Love from Aunty Christine and Uncle Barret.

This was a lekker (but sloshed) evening out with some of our friends (Leon & Jackie, Grant & Jeandre, Barret & Christine, Alre & Lindy and Jason) at Leon and Jackie's house. The evening started with the Rugby - South Africa vs Australia and the Springboks won 22, 19, well played guys, go Bokke. We then made our very own custom-made pizzas using the very delicious and well prepared toppings that Leon and Jackie had prepared for us, thanks guys. Some yummie stuff was seen!!! After supper a couple of tense hours of hardcore poker and Mrs Jeandre Cooke taking the pot of R200 and whipping all of our butts :), a dangerous but sweet contender :). Well done Jeandre. A cool and very funny evening all round. Thanks to Leon and Jackie for all their hard work.

This weekend the Verster family (Basie, Linda, Leon, Paul) came round to our house for a brief but enjoyable visit. Here we all are having breakfast together the lekker South African way, a lekker greasy breakfast, hehe.
Yes, you read the heading correctly, WE'RE PREGNANT. We are expecting the little Jelly Bean to be born in the beginning of Dec, expected due date 1 Dec. Whhooooooaaaaaaa!!!!!! Christine is +-13.4 weeks into her pregnancy and doing very well and very healthy. We have had 2 scans done during this month of our little Jelly Bean. The first on the 10th of May and the second on the 24th of May and we have just just received the good news that the blood tests are all perfect and that everything is in order - a healthy little Jelly Bean baby. We are very chuffed.
Below are videos from last weeks scans and the doctor showing us our babies face, our babies size (6.3mm) (a bigger version of a jelly bean
) and we can even hear our baby's heartbeat, +-171 beats per minute, very fast and very normal. We are very excited parents to be. Please comment, we would love to hear your thoughts.
After many many days of hard concentration, dedication and spending almost all her time behind a ton load of books, my beautiful wife finally got to express her joy at her graduation today at Unisa, Tuesday, 15 May 2007. We have just got back from our honeymoon too so it's already been a hectic start in Johannesburg. Tonight we will celebrate. Well done love, I am very proud of you.
Christine has been studying for her (CA) Chartered Accounting Board exams this year and already 1 set of exams are behind her, written in March just before we married. As you can imagine things have been quite hectic for us this year so far and more is too come. The results of these exams should be coming out in June or July and if all goes well (with her results) she will write her final set of exams later this year in October. Good luck love, I know you will do well.
